So yeah it’s been a while. April of last year to be exact. Back then I was still working at AT&T, still ONLY engaged,  and just wow alot has happened

Well in May I got married, it was great! haha I’m sure anyone who will read this has heard about the wedding already so I’m not gonna beat a dead horse.

Back in July I quit my job at AT&T and began working at Odessa Christian School. I’m the high school coordinator as well as yearbook editor, and video production teacher.

Speaking of video production I’ve re-edited and old favorite gaining 44,000 views and counting, the Wig series: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=g6tmq20k_Fc&list=PL2pBQDknkPLZ3B4rn-UiYQ3Ly29WspFVy

And this spring break Paul is coming to Florida and we will be filming the final installment. So that’s what I’m up to. So yeah there’s that, I’m still alive haha.

Guilford’s Corner

Posted: April 22, 2012 in Uncategorized

Hello and welcome back to Guilford’s Corner!

This week’s character is a  character I find fun, and the back story is just short and sweet.

Enjoy…

BUSINESS SHARK

This is just a personal piece that I had a good time creating and then coloring. I love the mustache and monocle. Business shark takes no nonsense and is just a terrible boss.

Ray’s Top 5 for the week.

Posted: April 21, 2012 in Uncategorized

Here’s my top 5 this week.

5. TOP VIDEO GAME: This week’s top video game in the spirit of the Stanley Cup playoffs is NHL 12.

I’ve been playing both online and be a pro mode, I just got drafted to the Edmonton Oilers….so yeah this is gonna be a good three-year contract….but I digress.

4. TOP TV SHOW: So this week How I Met Your Mother was a bit of a let down as was Big Bang Theory, and with Psych in its break I had to look to a new show. Thursday night I had myself a River Monsters marathon.

It’s a fascinating show where host Jeremy Wade goes all over the world to hunt down and catch the biggest and scariest fresh water fish on the planet.

Whether it be a massive catfish.

Or the terrifying goliath tiger fish.

It’s always interesting to see what he’ll catch.

3. TOP SONG- My top song for this week is by a band I’ve never really heard of before called Falling in Reverse. The song is I’m Not a Vampire.

2. TOP PHONE APP-I’ve really gotten into the app called Vlingo

it’s basically just like Siri without the talking back (which I don’t care for) even though it is available for Apple, I like to refer to it as the Siri of Android. Great App, if you have an Android or an iPhone without Siri, definitely check it out.

1. TOP SPORTS TEAM-I end off with sports team again this week, cause again it was a big shocker. Even though it totally messed up my first round bracket, my top sports team this goes to the Nashville Predators.

Last night the Predators made a huge upset and elimiated my mortal enemies the Detroit Red Wings from the playoffs.

Even though I’m not a Predators fan, I’m starting to like them a bit more now.

Well, that’s my top 5 for the week, be looking tonight for Guilford’s Corner!

So this time around not only will the incomparable Matt Guilford supply me with his own take on famous comic book, Star Wars, video game, and TV characters, but he will also be supplying me with his own creations, along with a short bio so you can not only see his art skills, but also his creativeness. So without further do.

Guilford’s Corner presents:

Space Killer X

Space Killer X is one of 26 different Space Killer agents, a group of elite soldiers who were previously used to take down extremely dangerous interstellar criminals. Thirteen of these agents split off after ten years of service, and now wreak havoc across the universe. The other thirteen disbanded, and now roam space on their own paths.

X uses his skills to wage war against smugglers and pirates alike, even though he is sometimes perceived as a criminal for drastic actions he takes. He captains his own spacecraft, along with his friend Gigatrox (an AI), and manned by a crew gathered from nearby moons and planets, and they very rarely work for clients, mostly sticking to personal interests and needs.

But as a darkness begins to grip a nearby system, X’s life is threatened by an encounter with a former friend, and he realizes that a star lord is gathering agents to take over the free worlds; some of these agents being X’s old partners.

Well there you have it, Space Killer X. My personal favorite of Guilford’s collection of wacky characters. I hope you enjoyed. See you all tomorrow!

Ray’s Top 5 of the week.

Posted: April 14, 2012 in Uncategorized

I meant to do this last night but got busy with date night so here it is today. Ray’s top 5 things of the week!

5. Song- So my top song of the week, even though I’ve been technically listening to Mass Effect music more, the 1 real song I’ve had on repeat the last couple of days has been The Memory Remains by Metallica. It’s a great song and nothing beats some good old Metallica.

4. Video Game- So more recently I’ve been back to playing WWE 12 and NHL 12 but up until a couple days ago I have been re-playing the entire Mass Effect trilogy. More recently the latest installment, Mass Effect 3

Mass Effect follows the journey of Commander Shepard, an Alliance Military soldier who’s life gets turned upside down when he learns the intention of an ancient race of sentient machines called the Reapers, to wipe out all organic life in the galaxy. When no one believes Commander Shepard he must do everthing in his power to stop them alone (with the help of a few loyal friends). The game is completely immersive and decision based. The decisions you make can change the whole outcome of the games. And the best part is, you can import your game from ME1 to ME2 and ME2 to ME3 and all the decisions you made in the two previous games are remembered in ME3. A great game that I will most likely beat for a 3rd time sometime in the future.

3. Movie-  I haven’t really seen too many movies this week, so I’m really just choosing the one I have seen (I did see Epic Movie also this week, but not sure that counts as a movie) So my top movie this week was The Muppets.

Not a blockbuster or anything, but it was a well written story (by Jason Segal) and it’s always great to see The Muppets back in action! Overall a fun movie for the whole family.

2. TV Show- So TV this week was interesting. CSI: NY, Miami and Vegas were all a little Lackluster. Good episodes but nothing to write home about like some have been in the past. Community was ok, funny episode but not as good as last weeks. And for second place there was a tie between

How I Met Your Mother

and Big Bang Theory

Those 2 shows this week were both great and probably would have been my number 1 picks if it hadn’t been for the season finale of Psych

Without giving away some spoilers. It was a great episode, classic Psych, but didn’t seem like a season finale til the very end. The shocking ending is what made Psych my number 1 pic this week.

1. Sports Team- So when I got this idea a couple days ago, I was hoping to use the Blackhawks for this section, but right now they’re not doing so well against the Coyotes. I thought I was gonna have to the Kings, or God forbid the freakin’ Bruins and not rep my Chicago teams….until yesterday.

Yesterday the World Series champs, the St. Louis Cardinals had their home opener and the ceremony presenting their rings. They played my team the Chicago Cubs. by the Bottom of the 5th it was 8-0 Cubs! The Cubs beat the world series champs 9-5. Making the Chicago Cubs my top team of the week.

Well that’s my top 5 of the week. Normally this will be on Friday.

Be looking later tonight for the brand new GUILFORDS CORNER!

Peace Out

Lets jump right in!

Here are my predictions for Stanley Cup round 1!

For the Western Conference:

Canucks vs. Kings

I got Canucks winning in 5 games

NEXT We have the St. Louis Blues vs. San Jose Sharks

I got my money on the Blues sweeping the Sharks

Next we have the Phoenix Coyotes vs. my Chicago Blackhawks.

Not Biased at all, I think the Hawks will win in 5 games.

Next up is the Nashville Predators vs. the Detroit Red Wings.

I’m feeling the Wings in 6 games.

OK now for the Eastern Conference:

First up we have the New York Rangers vs. Ottawa Senators.

I’ve got Rangers in 5 games.

Ok up next is the Boston Bruins vs. the Washington Capitals.

I’m feeling Boston sweeping the Caps.

Next up is the Florida Panthers vs. the New Jesey Devils.

I’m Feeling Panthers in 5 Games.

and finally.

The Pittsburgh Penguins vs. the Philadelphia Flyers.

I think the two Pennsylvania teams will go all 7 games with the Pens eventually coming out on top.

Welp, there’s my bracket. Sorry if this seems lackluster, I’m very tired.

Comments questions and concerns are always welcome.

Have a great night all.

43 Days

Posted: April 6, 2012 in Uncategorized

Needless to say I’m freaking out a little bit. Not about the actual wedding at all, I have no doubts, no cold-feet, no worries. I’m just freaking out about all the money! haha. Even though we have things budgeted really well, I will be on edge until everything is paid for. We have just about everything done. I’m collecting the money now for everyones suits, got a great deal and we’re getting the three piece suit, shirt and tie all for $140 to keep. Not a bad price at all.

Once I get all that I’m gonna pay for the suits and pick them up. I can’t wait to get mine, even though it’ll need be altered alot. I’m kind of just blabbering right now cause I don’t really know what else to say. Just needed to write a little to relieve some stress. My best man comes down on May 9th and stays til the 21st. I’m excited for that. Once May hits and it’s only 19 days away, I feel like I’ll be much more calm……lets hope.

I’m baaaaaaaaaaack

Ok so, no set plan of action, no theme, no gimmicks (for now atleast) I’m just gonna update everyone on my life since….HOLY CRAP October 29th 2011?!?!?!?!

Well, the reason it’s been so long, is right around then is when I got my new job. I am now a Sales Support Representative for AT&T

Which means I get a sweet new company phone, which is the Samsung Galaxy S II Skyrocket, I know long name, but it’s truely awesome.

Well right around Oct 29th me and Amanda celebrated our last anniversary not only as a “dating couple” but our last anniversary on the date of Oct 25th.
For the life of me I can’t remember what I got Amanda, probably flowers…oh wait I remember that part of the gift was an awesome date to this place called Pelagia Trattatoria, it was amazing best food I’ve ever had.

This reminds me, we must go back sometime, maybe the night after our wedding :). The other date/gift was to a Josh Grobin (I think) concert. It was some artist that Amanda REALLY liked and I got us tickets to the suite.

And my gift…was freaking awesome!

best girlfriend ever!!!
Shortly after that, I got all gussied up

and flew out to Ft. Lauderdale for training for my new job for 2 weeks
I got a sick hotel:
room
And had some great hotel room service a couple nights:

And just about every night after work, I went down and swam in the heated pool under the beautiful night sky of Ft. Lauderdale. It was great, the best part was on Saturday and Sunday of the first week we didn’t have class so I got to go catch a movie and just hang around town.

I came home the week of Thanksgiving and worked in the store for a week….Black Friday in retail was a bear. And then I flew back to Ft. Lauderdale for 1 more week of training. But before going back I did finally take my engagement pictures with my beautiful future wife…this one didn’t make the cut.

Finally after 3 weeks, I was complete. I was made an AT&T employee

Than I came back, started work in the store and finally Christmas came, my favorite time of year

I got some awesome gifts from Amanda and her family
I think my favorite though was this

gotta love Psych!
Speaking of Psych, we went to our cake tasting and I chose my groom cake

And also the Sunday after Christmas, I took the front of stage at Church of the Suncoast and put down my bass and sang. Although I was nervous, my church family eased my nerves with the newest CoS t-shirt

So the story behind that is, when I started playing in the band I received the nickname Rayzor. Well jokingly one time Meredith (our awesome drummer who’s idea the shirts were) asked what we should name the band. So I said jokingly back “How about Rayzor, and the other guys.” and the rest as they say is history.

So January very little happen to me personally. I joined a gym with my buddy Art, but the most important thing in January was the birth of my god-daughter Grace.

Who I haven’t gotten to see since that day…stupid work. We’ll fix that soon. Grace is the daughter of Amanda’s best friend Chelsea and her fiance Justin. Two great people so their child will be great by default.

So February rolled around not a whole lot happened besides Valentines day, our last valentines day as an engaged couple. I got Amanda a bouquet and we went to a hockey game and sat front row, and ate in the Channelside club. and she got me the best gift ever….

A blowup of Hulk 181 the debut of Wolverine. I mean technically Wolverine debuted in 180, but not til the last panel, so this is the one I consider his debut and she got it! Can I repeat best. fiance. ever! It’s going up in my man-cave at my house….oh yeah did I forget to mention, we signed our lease on our town home? so yeah February we moved in most of stuff. I don’t have any pics but I’ll be sure to get some soon.
That was it for February so…random band pics!

So thats’ about it. Not a whole lot has happened in March besides going from this

to this

Other than that, that’s my life from October-Now. I promise the next post, and there will be a next post will be much more excited, just had to get the updating out of the way.

I leave you all with some final artwork.
1 from my good pal Matt Guilford…yes Matt Guilford of the…not so famous Guilford’s corner I tried to start. Which will return if I can get him to do some more artwork…maybe some Mass Effect stuff…ah, ah, eh Matt?

Here’s his Joker from the Killing Joke

And some of my own artwork, I found a fear the beard sign for Brian Wilson an MLB pitcher, and decided to make my own, this is an outline of my real beard.

well, that’s all for now folks, I promise to update more regularily…
oh yeah one last picture…our wedding rings

May 19th people! I’m freaking out, but in a good way.

Welcome everyone to Guilford’s corner. To tie in with the other post this week I bring you Marvel Monday’s Wolverine!

And TV Tuesday’s Psych!

Enjoy!

TV Thursdays!

Posted: October 27, 2011 in Uncategorized

For the first time it’s TV Thursdays! Today we talk about
The Walking Dead

The first season centers on Deputy Rick Grimes,

who was shot and ended up in a coma for an indeterminate time.

When he awakens, he finds a post-apocalyptic world overrun with the walking dead.

He leaves the hospital and discovers his wife and son are missing. Rick arms himself and, after hearing a rumor from a survivor, begins a perilous journey for Atlanta, where the CDC is said to have set up a quarantined safe-zone in the city and where his family may be hiding. During his journey, Rick sees the devastation left by the “walkers” (a nickname given to the zombies). Upon reaching Atlanta, he soon discovers that the city is overrun by the undead and is no longer safe.

A few miles outside the city, Rick’s wife Lori and his son Carl

have been hiding from the walkers with Shane Walsh,

Rick’s former colleague and best friend. They have established a camp with a small group of survivors from around the country. After being rescued from Atlanta by the group and reunited with Lori and Carl, Rick assumes a command position with Shane and must take responsibility not only for his family but also for the survival of the group. Part of the group goes back into Atlanta to recover weapons, where they come into conflict with other survivors,

but Rick soon eases the tensions. However, on their return to their camp, they find it has been nearly overrun by walkers.

And sadly many of the survivors are killed in the attack.

Hoping to find medical treatment for an injured member, the remainder decide to return to Atlanta and seek aid from the CDC.
In the CDC, all but one staff member (Dr. Edwin Jenner)

have fled or killed themselves. Dr. Jenner explains his research into the cause of the “zombie apocalypse”. But the CDC building is not the safe haven the group believed. The following day, lack of fuel for the generators causes certain safety protocols to be initiated, which will result in the destruction of the CDC. Dr. Jenner explains that the French may have found a cure, as they were the only nation whose scientists stayed in their labs. Dr. Jenner elects to stay in the CDC despite the impending explosion. Before the group flees, Dr. Jenner whispers something unknown into Rick’s ear.

The group escapes just as Jenner is killed by the building’s self-destruct sequence.

End of Season 1

SEASON 2
The season begins immediately after the CDC explodes. Rick Grimes and the survivors see no reason to remain in Atlanta and leave it to the walkers, heading to Fort Benning. Along the way, they come across a traffic jam of vehicles on I-85.

The group loots several vehicles for supplies. The group then hides as walkers approach in a “herd”

Sophia (one of the survivor’s young daughter) is chased by two walkers and runs off into the woods.

Rick goes after her and tells her to hide under some branches by a creek. Rick kills both of the walkers but finds that Sophia has gone missing. The remaining group deals with interpersonal relationships while a search is performed. Rick, Shane, and Carl come across a deer. Carl slowly walks towards the deer but is shot.

Otis, the man who accidentally shot Carl, takes Rick, Carl, and Shane to a farm house where Carl is treated. Rick gives blood in an attempt to save Carl’s life. Shane and Otis head to a local high school in search for more medical supplies but are trapped by walkers.

And that’s where last week’s episode last off. Carl shot, Sophia still lost, Shane and Otis trapped. What will happen?
Overall it’s a great show, it’s not the cheap jump out and scare you crap, it’s actually well written and just overall eerie. Great zombie show, and perfect for Halloween.
I give it 5 out of 5

And no I don’t just give everything 5 stars, I truely believe Psych and Walking Dead are the two most well written and best shows out there right now. Be sure to check it out AMC Sunday nights at 9/8c. Check it out!
